For the past two decades, I’ve worked across party lines to balance our local budget while creating tens of thousands of new jobs in our county and generating more than one billion dollars in commerce and new investment. In that time, we’ve strengthened public safety and built new libraries and health centers in our local communities. I’m proud of my record, and I’ll take that same can-do attitude to Washington. I’ll reject the failed policies that got us into this recession, work to turn our nation around, and get America working again.

John is a fourth generation resident of Riverside County and has dedicated much of his life to the Inland Empire Region.
Currently Chairman of the Riverside County Board of Supervisors, John has presided as Chairman of the Board three times during his tenure.
John has added police officers to our streets, beefed-up public safety programs, and balanced the county budget. His leadership in regional transportation issues and his strong fiscal and organizational management also has forged great gains in Riverside County as well as the region.
As an advocate for youth, John supports collaborative programs that provide educational and growth opportunities for young people.
Supervisor Tavaglione is a Board Member and past President of the Southern California Dollars for Scholars Governing Board. John and his wife Jan have helped send hundreds of students to college by hosting an annual fundraiser where all proceeds go toward scholarships for graduating seniors in his district.
Prior to his election to the Board of Supervisors, John served on the Riverside City Council. His career spanned nearly 25 years as a commercial real estate executive. John received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California Baptist University.
Mr. Tavaglione is proud to be a U.S. Army veteran.
John and Jan have two children, Heidi and Chris, a daughter-in-law Jennifer, granddaughter Madelon Rose and grandson William Christopher. John and Jan live in Riverside with their dogs Rosie and Ralphie.
His hobbies are woodworking and singing/performing with his 60s classic rock group, The Legendary Mustangs.
